About Chimes of Earth
Chimes of Earth is part of a series named after components of our Solar System (Neptune, Mars, Pluto, Venus, Polaris, Mercury and Earth). Earth is sometimes called the ‘blue planet’ because water covers three-quarters of the earth’s surface when seen from space.
The name for Earth is Old English and German in origin, related to the Old Saxon ‘Ertha’, the Dutch ‘aerde’, and the German ‘erda’. Terra is a French and Latin word and isn’t part of the ‘Earth’ etymology.
Woodstock Wind Chimes were created over 40 years ago by Grammy award-winning musician Garry Kvistad in New York’s Hudson Valley. The chimes are the most well-known and respected of their kind due to their design quality and world-class expertise.
