Description
Handcrafted masterpieces, known for their wide tonal spectrum and long sustain, Meinl’s Sonic Energy Wind Gongs are expertly hand-forged in China from a special bronze alloy.
This ancient design allows the gong’s voice to fully open, producing a broad tonal range. When played softly, rich, low tones emerge. As you increase the intensity, the gong opens up to reveal wave-like overtones that swell with power. Each Meinl Wind Gong includes a matching beater to draw out its full tonal spectrum.
Also known as Feng or Sun Gongs, wind gongs have been used in traditional Chinese rituals for centuries. They were believed to dispel negative energies and invite clarity and harmony. Today, Meinl’s Sonic Energy Wind Gongs are used to create ambient soundscapes, sound baths, and in sound therapy to support relaxation.
Diameter: We stock four sizes of wind gongs, each with their own unique sound. Smaller sizes have higher tones, while the larger sizes are deeper, richer, and ring with more power and sustain.
