Where should I hang my Woodstock Chime?
If you hang your Woodstock Chime outside, we recommend you bring it in during harsh weather. Your chime’s aluminum tubes won’t rust when exposed to the elements, However, the aluminum may naturally pit or oxidise over time. But don’t worry – this won’t affect the sound.
How do I care for my Woodstock Chimes?
With a little love and regular care, your Woodstock Chime can last a lifetime. Anodised aluminium tubes won’t rust when exposed to the elements; the wooden parts are treated with eco-friendly water-based wood finish; and even the nylon cord is UV resistant.
The level of maintenance needed depends on your local climate and how much exposure your chime has to the elements. To keep the wooden components in top condition, gently wipe them with a clean cloth or brush and apply a thin coat of wood wax or natural oil – such as Danish, teak, or lemon oil. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and slows the natural aging process. For added protection, we recommend applying a light coat of exterior varnish each spring.
The aluminium tubes and other parts can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth and mild soap. These durable tubes won’t rust, but a quick clean every now and then will keep them looking their best.
