High-quality gong stands
A good stand is a wonderful companion for your gong. It’s ideal for displaying your gong prominently, giving it a permanent home for regular practice, and for maximising the quality of the sound when playing it.
Our range of gong stands cover a variety of uses, including those more suitable for stationary setups and options that offer easier portability. Our stands come in a range of designs and sizes, including C-shaped floor stands, square Orchestra stands and set square stands which can hold up to two Gongs. Many of our gong stands can accommodate a set of wheels, allowing for easy movement.
We source our gong stands from multiple established brands, including Paiste, Meinl and Gibraltar. We regularly review our suppliers to ensure you have access to the best gong stands for your instrument. You can find detailed information about choosing the right gong stand in our article, Choosing the right gong accessories.
All you need to know about gong stands
How do I choose the right gong to stand?
When selecting a gong stand, a key consideration is the size of your gong, as well as how you plan to use it. Choosing the right size is easy – for example, a 32” gong will require a 32” gong stand.
All gong stands can be dismantled for easy transport, however, you might choose one with wheels if you plan to move it around the space often. Additionally, consider height adjustability to ensure comfortable playing positions.
We’ve written a detailed guide comparing the different types of gong stands we offer. You can find it here.
How do I care for my gong stand?
To keep your gong stand in optimal condition, regularly check and tighten any loose screws if necessary. You can clean the stand with a damp cloth to remove any dust and debris. For stands with wheels, ensure the wheels are clean of debris and functioning properly.
Can I transport my gong while on the stand?
Yes, some stands are designed with wheels to facilitate easy transport within the same space. The Paiste double set stands with wheels are particularly useful for those who need to move their gongs frequently.
But if you plan to transport your gong between venues or over long distances, we recommend taking it off the stand and placing in a specially designed Gong bag to protect the gong during transport. All stands are easy to disassemble and reassemble at your destination.
Is there a difference from brand to brand?
Here is a quick explainer of the three brands we currently stock. These may change from time to time and we endeavour to keep this information up to date.
Paiste Gong Stands: Paiste is one of the world’s most recognised gong producers. Their stands are designed to offer robust support for your gongs, featuring a wide, stable base. Their square stands are height-adjustable aso you can adjust to a comfortable height for standing or even lower down to floor height for playing while sitting on the floor. Floor stands are lightweight, easy to setup and perfect for playing while sitting or kneeling.
Meinl Gong Stands: These are known for their solid construction and reliable performance. Meinl gong stands are a great option for both stationary and portable setups – we sell an optional set of 4 Meinl Gong Stand Wheels that can be attached to your stand. Their sturdy design ensures that your gong remains secure during play.
Gibraltar Gong Stands: Gibraltar stands are known for their solid build and high-quality materials. These stands are designed to provide excellent support and stability, ensuring your gong is held securely during performances. While a little more involved to setup, they are a solid choice. They are at the higher end of the market in terms of price.
Do I need to buy a stand in the same brand as my gong?
Not necessarily. You can mix and match brands. It all depends which style of stand you prefer and the intended use.
